Meet Judi

I am an award-winning travel and cruise writer and photographer based in Toronto, Canada, enjoying my “third chapter” following a 35-year career in transportation and engineering consulting.

My work has been featured in consumer and trade publications, including Travel Market Report, Zoomer Magazine, Bold Traveller Magazine, Travel Life Magazine, Quirky Cruise, World Traveller Magazine, All Things Cruise, and others. I have been a guest on travel podcasts, speaking about my small ship cruise experiences around the world, family travel in India, and adventurous expedition cruises in the Arctic and Antarctic.

I’ve travelled to over 95 countries, and some of my most memorable travel experiences include visiting luxury game reserves in Botswana and South Africa, travelling in Okinawa, Japan, exploring the secrets to longevity and lifestyle in one of the world’s Blue Zones”, interacting with local residents while cruising on small ships on the Brahmaputra River in India, the Mekong River in Vietnam and Cambodia, the Upper Mekong in Laos, and the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar, as well as cruising in the Antarctic, Canadian Arctic and Greenland, Alaska, and Hawaii on small expedition ships.

I love sharing personal stories about overcoming fear of the unknown in off-beat parts of the world. My stories are intended to inspire readers to “feel the fear and do it anyway.” I write first-hand stories about my passion for travel along with tips on planning, booking, and packing for adventurous trips.
